Catholic priest claims women bring sexual violence on themselves..

SEX CRIMES DECEMBER 29, 2012BY: KELLY COZZONE Father Piero Corsi, an Italian Catholic priests claims women are to blame for sexual violence against them. An Italian Catholic priest caused outrage around the world when he stated that violence against women is their own fault. He went on to say that women who dress provocatively invite men to commit violence. Father Piero Corsi of the small parish of San Terenzo near La Spezia in northwest Italy came under fire after several members of his congregation took his Christmas bulletin and posted it on Facebook. The bulletin was a flyer with the title “Women and femicide – healthy self-criticism. How often do they provoke?” The flyer stated that any woman who has been a “victim of domestic and sexual violence should question if they were themselves to blame for the incident.” The flyer went on to say, “How often do we see girls and mature women going around scantily dressed in provocative clothes? They provoke the worst instincts, which end in violence or sexual abuse. They should search their consciences and ask: did we bring this on ourselves?” “Is it possible that all of a sudden men have gone mad? We don’t believe it. The fact is that women are increasingly provocative, they become arrogant, they believe themselves to be self-sufficient and end up exacerbating the situation. Children are abandoned to their own devices, homes are dirty, meals are cold or fast food, clothes are filthy.” Corsi went on to allege that an Italian reporter for Rai Radio he spoke with has to be gay if a photo of a naked women didn’t entice them. “I don’t know whether you’re a queer or not, but what do you feel when you see a naked woman? “Are women themselves not causing harm by unveiling themselves like this?” One female member of Corsi’s congregation said that the priest “should keep a low profile as he has lots of secrets he would not wish to come out.” The region’s bishop, Luigi Ernesto Palletti called Father Corsi’s remarks “unacceptable and against the church’s common feeling on the matter.” As a result of the outrage his flyer, Corsi spoke out and stated that it was his intention to “take a period of rest.” from the pages of:http://www.examiner.com/article/catholic-priest-claims-women-bring-sexual-violence-on-themselves

HeyoCritiq, who....

Well, I am basically a critic..neither a supporter nor a sympathizer of any political party.....or the high and the mighty. A former freelance journalist and (amateur) photographer who once made a living thus! A cheerful and jolly guy, completely self made, moderately educated, well read and travelled, gathering great experiences; learning from the thick and thin and deriving the wisdom of life. One who learns from everyone and firmly believes its a continuous process. Fairly honest who takes pride in calling a spade a spade and has a direct approach. Gets inspired by the honoured and the humble. Unsparing. A critic. Does not hesitate to self criticize; in fact, welcomes criticism and laughs over it / corrects if & when possible. An ardent believer and lover of God;strongly believe in Him as the Creator and the Destroyer.A devout man.........believes that God is the Ultimate & the Almighty. Nothing happens without him. A lot more.......
