The DNA reports that Christian missionary Rev CM Khanna on Thursday said he was asked to leave the Kashmir valley by some of the Islamic clerics for allegedly converting Muslims to Christianity.
Khanna, who gave in to the pressure and appeared before the supreme court of Shariat headed by grand mufti of Kashmir Bashir-ud-din on Thursday, said the atmosphere was charged up and many of the people present asked him to leave the valley.
“There were almost 30 people (clerics representing several Muslim outfits in the court). Many of them said you leave the valley in a minute and it is enough. They were at least three who said so. They also said we are not violent and you are the guest of the valley”, Khanna said.
